Love: A Scientific and Living Philosophy of Love and Sex is Lao Russell’s enduring message to young people—and to all seekers of truth—on the transformative power of love.
“No one can resist a truly loving person, and when one understands the art of living he has learned that in loving everything he does he not only brings joy to his own heart, but he becomes a magnet that draws others to him.” — Lao Russell
First published in the 1960s, this historic work was originally written for teenagers, yet its wisdom has continued to inspire readers of every generation. While some reflections bear the voice of its era, the principles Lao Russell teaches remain eternal: that love is both a science and an art, the creative force of life itself, and the foundation of human character.
Lao Russell saw the youth of every age as the bearers of the world’s greatest challenge—the creation of a New Age of Character. “Youth is a time for progressive thinking, acting and growing. Working constructively with Natural Law, you can give birth to a bright New Age. Working together, with love, toward the single purpose of a better way of life, we cannot fail to give birth to the greatest age ever known in the history of mankind – an Age of Character.”
Both visionary and deeply practical, Love is a call to live more generously, more joyfully, and more in harmony with the universal laws of life. It is a guide not only for youth stepping into maturity, but for anyone seeking to build a life—and a world—founded on love.

I enjoyed her book very much, and particularly enjoyed her saying (my words only) that everything we do in life should be done with love. Everything... All of us should have been taught much of this early on. For myself the description of love should encompass the acts (for yourself & others) of caring for, sharing, compassion, giving, & unity. What I didn't care for was that she included 'sex' in the title of the book. Sex is not love, but maybe should be listed as a subheading of love. We have been so programmed (and dumbed down) to believe sex is love.
This was the first book I read of the Russell's materials and I wish I would have read it sooner! Every young adult should read this to help understand the dating process and how to strive for a truly balanced relationship.
